Open Water Dive Certification

PADI Open_Water_static_Banner.jpg

The Open Water Certification class has several options for completing the educational subject matter. The old school approach was to learn in a classroom environment meeting one to two days per week over several weeks. This option now the least popular way of learning because of the long times between classes, where students retained less information making it harder to remember all the subject matter. Also with busy schedules it makes it hard to make all the classes which in return some people couldn’t finish with their class then needing private lessons to finish.

Today the most popular and effective way to learn the majority of the many dive classes is done via ELearning. Not only can you take the class at your leisure but the ELearning class has been designed to make learning easy for every type of person regardless of age or ability. You may also buy the course material with a DVD, also known as crew packs. Click the link below to start your eLearning course now!

Once you complete the majority of your course material or ELearning class you will meet with your instructor and review modules 1-5 and then take your final exam. Next we will get familiar with the equipment you will be using during your water sessions of the class whether you’re renting or bought your own gear. We will take the gear to our pool where you will learn and practice all the skills you will need to know to pass your water portion of the class. Once you are comfortable with your equipment and perform all the skills at a satisfactory level your instructor will take you to the beach where you will perform the skills you just learned as well as learn the basics of navigation and how to control your buoyancy. You are required to complete 4 open water dives which may last 20 to 45 minutes. Your final 2 dives will be done by boat where here you will complete the remaining skills and then get to do your first adventure dive as a Certified Diver! Congratulations, you are now part of the underwater dive family. The adventure is just about to begin. Click here for Open Water class prices.

Emergency First Response Course

The PADI Emergency First Response Course (EFR) is an on-shore course training integrating accident management which addresses Emergency First Response Primary Care (CPR) and Emergency First Response Secondary Care (First Aid), which builds your confidence to respond to medical emergencies in everyday life as well as in a diving environment.
You do not need to be a scuba diver to earn this certificate.
Scuba divers and Non Scuba divers alike should follow this course to be able to react in the right way when a accident happens, inside- and beside the water and during everyday life.
Your Next Adventure
Upon completing CPR and first aid and the PADI Rescue Diver course, the step is to become a PADI Emergency Oxygen Provider. These three course are essential to be a safer diver for yourself, your dive buddy and everyone you dive with.
In the unlikely event of a dive emergency, you should be prepared to offer the best First Aid for most dive accidents- Oxygen. This course will prepare you to administer emergency oxygen if it should be needed. No minimum age or certification requirements. EFR (CPR and First Aid) recommended.

The Scuba Tune-Up will re activate your certification if you haven’t been diving in a few years. This is a great way to brush up your skills and knowledge from the PADI Open Water Course before taking the plunge again. In many cases Dive Operators require you to do a refresher class with an Instructor before diving if you haven’t logged a dive in over a year. At Naples Marina & Excursions we offer both an online review and book review with your Instructor and then a skill session in a pool environment. The best part is divers who complete both the knowledge review and in-water skill refresher can receive a replacement certification card with the reactivation date on it.

In the water, your PADI Professional will help you regain comfort and confidence in scuba diving. You’ll practice a few safety-related skills and then go over anything you specifically want to review. Click here for rates.
